Abstract: The article suggests a sample lesson outline devoted to studying the specific literary features of the novelette by B. Putilov through the prism of the main character becoming mature. A certain stage of the lesson is connected with immersing the students into the cultural and historical atmosphere of the wartime and after-wartime years, which enriches the perception of the text. The contributor purposefully selects particular episodes for analysis, suggests definite questions and approximate logic of students' speculation on the fragments in question.
Key words: TOPIC, SPIRITUAL MATURITY, LESSON CONCLUSIONS, PROTAGONIST, LESSON AIM, PROGRESS OF THE LESSON
