Chamber Number one by V. Makanin and "Chamber № 6" by A.P. Chekhov: Coming Nearer to Interpretation

Abstract: The comparative analysis of two texts (A.Chekhov's story Chamber № 6, 1892, and the chapter «Chamber number one» from V. Makanin's novel Hero of our time, 1997) allows to reveal a generalities and distinctions of Russian writers of different epoch directed by social and existential problems, in poetic plot, in a characterology. Conscious orientation of the modern prose writer to classic's art experience pass intertextuality and testifies to dialogue of the art worlds, the currency of Chekhov's prose in a modern Russian spiritual situation.
