Abstract: The article deals with D. A. Granin’s concept of history as presented in the novel “Evenings with Peter the Great”. The author of the novel argues that historical process is driven and streamlined by people endowed with rare gifts and deep urge to create such as the first Russian emperor Peter the Great.
