Abstract: The existence of modern Russian literature on the Internet has dramatically changed the literary practices of writing and reading: the virtual network environment is not a neutral medium, it has become the formative and semantic source of the literary text, has determined its functioning in the literary field, and has generated new forms of literary life and literary routines. The article studies the social networks and their technological code and behavioral etiquette influence on the poetics of modern Russian literature — its genre, style, and narrative features. The material of the study includes the works of Linor Goralik, Dmitry Bavilsky, Andrei Rodionov and other contemporary writers. The aim of the study is to identify the strategies for the generation and consumption of texts fueled by the new conditions of literary existence. The methodology of the research includes the analysis of texts (structuralsemiotic, narratologic, genre, receptive), as well as interviews of the writers under study (the interview questions referred to the subject matter). As a result of the research the main factors of the Internet environment that affect literary poetics have been identified. These could be attributed to the communicative habits of users, the technical characteristics of Internet platforms, and the writer’s skills in working with network services. In addition, text-generating mechanisms determined by the design of social networks have been identified. The fragments of the interviews given in the article made it possible to trace the genesis of texts, the writer’s selfreflexion in the process of creating literary texts or placing them on the web. All these made it possible to determine the creative and receptive characteristics of the texts of the new formation: minor forms dictated by the screen size and a convention of the writer and reader who are both focused on network formats; the inclusion of audio and visual elements in the verbal text; and specific ways of cyclization dictated by the social media tools. Among the new factors that have affected the reception of texts the following have been established: the problematization of fictitiousness arising from the online mode of the reading of news feed where the artistic discourse is mixed with everyday discourses, and also the openness of the network text to the readers. The digital age scenarios of writing and reading presented in the article set the prospects for the research of Russian literature that would take into account the digital component of the literary process.
