Abstract: The article is devoted to the phenomenon of authenticity of artistic practices. The aim of this paper is to identify the factors of formation of the authenticity effect of Egor Letov’s creative activity. The work draws on N. T. Rymar’s concept of authenticity of artistic utterance, which is based on the analysis of the aesthetic event as an interaction between the author, the character and the reader. Based on the systematization of theoretical concepts about the authenticity effect, a number of factors of its formation are identified: independent creative behavior, effect of immediacy of utterance, open form of a work of art, creative autocommunication, generally significant topics, and receptive authenticity. The article analyzes the effect of authenticity on the material of Letov’s creative activity. Letov’s creative activity is considered in the context of the ethics and ideology of the punk movement, for which authenticity is one of the fundamental values. Based on the analysis of the interview materials, the paper identifies the specific features of the author’s position in the context of transformations of models of creative behavior in the culture of the twentieth century. A review of the critical literature allows characterizing the main peculiarities of Letov’s poetics: elements of inner speech, collage, and emotivity and openness of the artistic form. The work identifies the factors of the formation of the authenticity effect at different levels of the organization of artistic utterance: the study has revealed the author’s desire to produce authentic artistic utterances and to guarantee the urgency of socio-political and existential issues, providing high relevance of the artistic utterance, has discovered the influence of emotivity, seeming incoherence, collage and openness of Letov’s poetry on the activation of the cultural experience and consciousness of the audience, and has also revealed the specific features of the performance of compositions enhancing the authenticity of sound, as well as signs of significant resonance and active inclusion of the audience in the aesthetic and cultural event of Letov’s creative activity. The analysis shows that the creation of the authenticity effect formed the basis of Letov’s creative method. The article is intended for scholars studying communication models and problems of authenticity of artistic practices, as well as for anyone interested in the creative work of Egor Letov.
