Abstract: The study aims to identify the potential for using corpus linguistics tools in discourse analysis. The methodological basis of the study includes the following methods of scientific research: observation, selection and grouping of empirical material, conducting an experiment, studying, analyzing and synthesizing the corpus data obtained during the experiment and, on this ground, drawing conclusions about the possibility of using corpus linguistics tools in discourse analysis. The empirical material encompasses press releases of the PR discourse of the NOVATEK Company. The study shows the procedure of the authors’ interpretation of statistically significant data obtained through the corpus tools Word Frequency Lists, Keyword Analysis and Concordances. In the course of the study, the authors carry our interpretation of statistically significant data provided by the above-mentioned corpus tools. The data obtained through Keyword Analysis makes it possible to characterize the participant of the discourse, NOVATEK, in terms of its organizational and legal form of ownership, main areas of activity and geography of production, as well as to identify one of the main value dominants of the company – the value of environmental protection. The data provided by the Word Frequency Lists tool shows the predominance of words with positive evaluative semantics, which is further confirmed by analyzing the contexts of these words using the Concordances function. Based on the data obtained, it is concluded that the tone of the press releases is positive, which leads to the identification of the strategy of creating a positive image of the company as the main speech strategy of the discourse under analysis, which, in turn, allows making assumptions about the potential addressees of the discourse – investors and consumers of NOVATEK products. The results of the undertaken research allow stating that the quantitative data obtained through corpus tools provides an opportunity to identify a number of important pragmalinguistic characteristics of the discourse of press releases, while ensuring the objectivity and evidence of interpretative judgments regarding the analyzed discourse. Prospects for further research suggest expanding the empirical base by including other types of discourse and their genre varieties in the analysis procedure, as well as developing new methods for using corpus tools to study the interaction between linguistic structures and social contexts of discursive space.
