Abstract: The article deals with the problem of reflection in the poetic text of the individual author's language worldview through a conceptual metaphor. The aim of the study is to analyze the development of thought patterns in the poetry of Joseph Brodsky, the subject of study is the metaphorical representation of the concepts MEMORY and LANGUAGE in the cycle of Joseph Brodsky's poems «Part of Speech». The cognitive metaphorical models that represent one of the key concepts in the structure of the individual author's language worldview are described with the method of frame analysis. As a result of the research, conclusions on the development of thought images associated with these concepts and their perception in the analyzed work were obtained. It was found that the dynamics of the metaphorical projection of the concepts MEMORY and LANGUAGE in the cycle of Joseph Brodsky's poems «Part of Speech» corresponds to the dynamics of the whole work, as well as to the general way of development of the poetics of the author, which can be conditionally designated as the path «from romanticism to rationalism». The conclusions obtained as a result of the research can be applied in the work on translations of Joseph Brodsky's works, in philological studies aimed at conceptual content of the work analysis, as well as in studying the metaphorical representation of the MEMORY and LANGUAGE concepts in other works of the author.
